Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive IT Support Specialist to join our technology team. Responsibilities
- Provide prompt and effective technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, software bugs, network connectivity problems, VPN access issues, firewalls, DNS configurations, and other IT infrastructure components.
- Manage user accounts and permissions using Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO), ensuring secure access control.
- Support computer management tasks such as OS updates, software installations, hardware upgrades, and system imaging using tools like SCCM.
- Assist with network administration including LAN setup, TCP/IP configurations, DNS management, and troubleshooting network devices such as Meraki routers and switches.
- Handle customer support tickets efficiently through platforms like ServiceNow or Jira while maintaining clear communication with end-users.
- Contribute to the maintenance of help desk documentation and asset records using BMC Remedy or similar systems.
- Collaborate with team members on IT projects related to infrastructure upgrades, security enhancements, and system deployments.
Skills
- Proven experience in technical support roles with a strong understanding of IT support principles.
- Expertise in equipment troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
- Proficiency in software troubleshooting across various applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid knowledge of computer networking concepts such as LAN/WAN, TCP/IP protocols, VPNs, firewalls, DNS management, and TCP troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience managing Active Directory environments along with GPO configuration for user management and security policies.
- Familiarity with operating systems including Windows (Windows Server), macOS, and Linux distributions.
- Ability to troubleshoot computer hardware issues involving components like hard drives, RAM, motherboards, and peripherals.
- Experience working with IT management tools such as SCCM for deployment and updates; ServiceNow or Jira for ticketing; BMC Remedy for incident tracking.
- Strong analysis skills to diagnose complex technical problems quickly and accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively assist users at all levels while maintaining a positive attitude in high-pressure situations.
