Ecosmic is on a mission to reduce threat exposure in space by building software for Space Domain Awareness.
We are a high-tech, data-driven space startup, bringing together an international team of engineers and computer scientists. We move fast, think deeply, and care about building things that matter.
We're looking for a Systems Engineer with at least 4 years of experience and a background in Space Engineering (or a closely related field) to join our team.
The role combines systems trade-offs and software development with technical project management, giving you the opportunity to work across engineering, product strategy and business development.
You'll contribute to the company’s long-term strategy definition and execution, working at the intersection of technical and business development with the Product and Sales teams. You will report directly to the CPO, but work in close collaboration with the CEO and CCO.
Perform system-level trade-offs to support the definition of the company product roadmap, taking into account customer and market feedback, as well as technical and budget constraints
Propose, define, and lead technical projects for commercial and institutional stakeholders, such as satellite integrators/operators, ESA or NATO
Perform systems engineering research and analyses for specific SDA projects
Oversee procurement processes, developing tools to compare different data providers and managing relationships with suppliers
Produce technical documentation for customers, partners, and other stakeholders
Master's degree in Space Engineering or a closely related field
At least 4 years of experience in systems engineering, mission analysis, flight dynamics, or another space-related engineering role
Excellent written and spoken English
Good understanding of orbital mechanics, spacecraft operations, and space systems engineering
Comfortable working independently on technical analyses and simulations
Interested in both the technical and commercial side of the space industry
Able to explain technical topics clearly to different audiences
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international startup environment
Experience working on projects involving a consortium of companies
Familiarity with Space Domain Awareness or Space Situational Awareness
Programming experience with Python or other languages
Previous experience writing technical proposals or working directly with customers
