We are looking for a Junior Application Maintenance Engineer - SRE I to support the continuity, stability, and reliability of production services.
You will handle first-level monitoring, troubleshooting, operational support, and application deployments with growing autonomy, involving senior colleagues when dealing with more complex issues.
You will work closely with developers, senior SREs, and Operations teams on Azure-based data platforms.
On-call availability is required.
Provide first-level technical support for Azure Synapse, SQL Pool, Data Pipeline Ingestion, Data Fabric, and Azure Functions.
Monitor Azure-based systems and applications by analysing logs, metrics, alerts, and service behaviour to identify anomalies, degradation, and recurring issues.
Support troubleshooting and incident resolution activities, involving senior team members when needed.
Support applications running on OpenShift through basic operational activities and troubleshooting.
Perform initial checks and issue investigation on Kafka-based systems, coordinating with senior engineers when required.
Support application deployments from development to production, ensuring controlled and secure releases.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, runbooks, operational procedures, and known-issue records.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 6 months of experience in Application Maintenance, technical support, or production operations, including internships.
Basic hands-on knowledge of Azure services.
Practical exposure to OpenShift and Kafka.
Basic knowledge of Bash, Git.
Familiarity with relational databases, data warehousing, and microservice architectures.
Ability to analyse logs, investigate errors, and follow troubleshooting procedures.
Basic programming knowledge in Java and/or Python.
Good communication skills and a strong learning mindset.
Knowledge of MongoDB.
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or similar platforms.
Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and release management practices.
Interest in SRE principles, reliability engineering, and operational automation.
