The Accountant ensures accurate and timely management of the company’s financial transactions, supporting both the general ledger and the accounts payable/receivable processes. The role contributes to monthly closing, compliance with local regulations, and provides financial data to internal stakeholders.
Typical Accountabilities:
- Accounts Payable -Process supplier invoices, verify documentation, manage payment schedules, reconcile statements, and ensure compliance with internal policies
- Accounts Receivable -Issue customer invoices, monitor outstanding payments, manage credit notes, and support collection activities
- General Accounting -Maintain accurate accounting records, support journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Month-End Closing -Assist with closing activities, prepare reports, and ensure deadlines are met
- VAT & Tax Compliance -Support VAT calculations, Intrastat, and other statutory requirements in line with local regulations
- Expense Management -Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring policy compliance
- Fixed Assets -Maintain asset register, track depreciation, and support audits
- Audit Support -Provide documentation and explanations during internal and external audits
- Cross-Functional Collaboration -Work closely with Finance, Procurement, HR, and Operations to ensure data accuracy and process alignment
Required Skills & Experience:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Knowledge of Italian VAT and basic tax principles
- Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Excel
- Good command of English, written and spoken
