PLUMBER:
WHAT YOU WILL DO
You will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all onboard water distribution and sanitation systems, contributing to guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs of sewage, freshwater, grey water, and vacuum systems onboard.
- Ensure the proper functioning of toilets, treatment plants, tanks, and associated plumbing equipment.
- Monitor system performance, identify operational issues, and implement timely corrective actions.
- Install, maintain, and repair vacuum toilet systems, faucets, and hot/cold water distribution systems across cabins, public areas, galleys, laundry facilities, and SPA areas.
- Carry out periodic cleaning and maintenance of grey water discharge filters and report equipment conditions to the Hotel Technician.
- Inspect and repair steam and water piping systems connected to coffee machines, grinders, and other hospitality equipment.
- Maintain and repair galley machinery operating with steam or water, including dishwashers, pot washers, glass washers, and related components.
- Support health, safety, and environmental compliance by following HESS standards, Company procedures, and sanitation protocols.
- Promote preventive maintenance practices to ensure uninterrupted service and guest comfort.
- Support pool equipment operations when required in the absence of a dedicated Water and Pool Operator.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a reliable and technically skilled professional with strong problem-solving abilities, eager to work in a dynamic international environment and contribute to the smooth operation of onboard hotel services.
Required
- High School Diploma in Mechanics or equivalent technical qualification.
- At least 5 years of experience in the plumbing industry, including a minimum of 2 years onboard large cruise vessels.
- Basic English communication skills (minimum A2 level).
- Solid knowledge of plumbing, water distribution, sanitation, vacuum, and steam systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize operational requirements.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Nice to have
- Experience with water treatment or pool systems.
- Experience in hospitality, cruise, or maritime environments.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and reporting systems.
- Ability to support and guide junior team members, including Assistant Plumbers.
