What you'll be doing:
At Avon, we're passionate about delivering exceptional experiences to our Representatives and customers. We're looking for a Transportation Senior Specialist to oversee transportation operations across Italy, ensuring reliable deliveries, strong carrier partnerships, cost efficiency, and continuous service improvement. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on customer satisfaction while working closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic international environment.
You'll take ownership of transportation operations across Italy, ensuring customer, retail, and marketplace deliveries are executed efficiently and on time. You'll manage transport partners, monitor service performance, control transportation budgets, and identify opportunities to improve delivery quality and reduce costs. Working closely with Procurement, Customer Service, Sales, Finance, and external carriers, you'll help drive operational excellence while proactively resolving delivery issues and mitigating potential risks. You'll also contribute to transport-related projects, support vendor onboarding and contract management, and ensure compliance with relevant legal and financial requirements.
Key responsibilities:
Managing road transport operations and daily delivery performance across Italy.
Monitoring transport provider performance against agreed KPIs and service standards.
Analyzing transportation reports, delivery metrics, and cost performance to identify improvement opportunities.
Controlling transportation budgets, purchase orders, invoice validation, and supplier payments.
Driving initiatives that improve delivery service, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
Supporting transport contract management and supplier negotiations in partnership with Procurement.
Collaborating with local and regional stakeholders on strategic transportation projects and service enhancements.
Identifying delivery risks and implementing corrective actions to ensure business continuity.
What We're Looking For
University degree or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 5 years of relevant supply chain, logistics, or transportation experience.
Good understanding of distribution, transportation, and carrier management processes.
Experience managing transportation costs, budgets, or operational KPIs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
Effective negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Confidence working across multiple teams in a matrix environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation-related systems
Fluent in Italian & English language skills.
A valid driver's license.
