We are the tech company behind the media and sporting moments that matter.
Over four decades, Deltatre has grown to employ more than 1,000 experts worldwide.
We're trusted by the biggest broadcasters, telcos, media companies, sport governing bodies, leagues, and federations.
Our products, innovation, dependability, and people continue to redefine how the value of live and on-demand sport, film, TV, and news content is maximized across streaming, digital, data, graphics, officiating, and through marketplace strategy and growth services.
This role is offered on an Italian employment contract. Candidates must be based in Italy as we are unable to support remote working from outside the country due to local employment and tax legislation.
This role sits within Deltatre's OTT/TV Everywhere delivery organisation, working alongside a design, development, and technology team responsible for products used across major sports and media platforms. The team combines programme-level delivery discipline with hands-on people leadership across a distributed, multi-market footprint.
As Project Portfolio Manager, you will own the technical and strategic direction of a portfolio of projects, leading a team of Project Delivery Managers and a wider team of 10+ across EMEA. You'll be accountable for delivery health and P&L across your portfolio, and for the commercial and client relationships that sit above any single project.
-
Contribute to the technical and strategic direction of your project portfolio, driving integrated teams to deliver technology solutions aligned with clients' strategic product roadmaps
-
Programme-manage the delivery of multiple OTT/TV Everywhere products with a team of Project Delivery Managers
-
Work closely with, and lead, internal and external multidisciplinary teams of product owners, architects, engineers, and quality assurance experts
-
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of 10+ across EMEA
-
Own and analyse delivery health, including project P&L (profitability) at each stage of the project and client engagement
-
Manage and own commercial and contractual engagements across your portfolio
-
Facilitate communication between product teams, stakeholders, and delivery teams through effective use of internal tools for knowledge sharing, document retention, and governance
-
Maintain high-level client relationships, driving strategic outlooks and identifying up-sell and cross-sell opportunities throughout the engagement lifecycle
You have done this before - here's what we're looking for.
-
5+ years' experience managing complex projects lasting up to 12 months, with associated budgets exceeding £2 million
-
Agile Scrum and/or Kanban experience
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage communications effectively at all levels of an organisation
-
Proven ability to work through ambiguity, drive process, and achieve results without direct authority
-
Strong understanding of technology, processes, risks, and controls, with the business acumen to connect delivery to commercial outcomes
-
Strong problem-solving skills and senior-level decision-making capability
-
Track record of leading and mentoring teams of 10 or more across multiple markets
Valued
-
PMI/PMP certification
-
Experience managing portfolios across the OTT/TV Everywhere product space
-
Experience working across EMEA or other multi-market, multi-timezone environments
This role operates a level above single-project delivery - you're accountable for the health of a portfolio, not just one plan, and for the people leading each piece of it. It suits someone who can hold commercial, technical, and people-leadership threads at once without losing track of any of them.
People who do well here build genuine trust with the Project Delivery Managers they lead, rather than managing them by dashboard alone, and they treat governance and client relationships as tools for protecting delivery quality across a whole portfolio, not just paperwork.
Salary starts from € 47,000 at entry level rising to € 73,000 for those with significant relevant experience. Where you land depends on the experience and expertise you bring. If your expectations sit outside the range, tell us anyway - we're happy to have an open conversation. Internal progression is assessed through a structured process combining a technical assessment and a competency-based interview. The role falls under CCNL Commercio | D.Lgs. 96/2026.
