The Campus Manager serves as the on-site operational leader for the assigned data centre campus, with overall responsibility for translating direction from the Director of Operations into consistent, disciplined daily execution. This role leads a team of site engineers and skilled technical personnel, oversees the application of company policies and procedures at site level, and identifies opportunities to improve operational processes within the campus or functional discipline. The position is accountable for maintaining site uptime, meeting SLA commitments, delivering preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, and ensuring effective vendor oversight and performance.
This role requires onsite training/onboarding in one or multiple other EdgeConneX locations. Expected travel in the first 6 months is significant.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the local site engineering team, including task allocation, work oversight, performance management, and capability development in line with EdgeConneX policies.
- Translate operational objectives from the Director of Operations into structured site plans, schedules, and day-to-day workflows.
- Own and deliver the site preventive maintenance programme, while acting as the on-site lead for corrective and emergency maintenance activities.
- Implement and oversee company policies and procedures at site level, recommending improvements to local processes where opportunities are identified.
- Manage the CMMS to ensure work orders, asset records, and maintenance histories are complete, accurate, and up to date.
- Supervise third-party contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with approved Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and EdgeConneX operational standards.
- Maintain 100% uptime and ensure full compliance with customer SLAs, acting as the primary escalation point for operational issues at site level.
- Monitor and manage site operating costs, identifying and escalating variances to the Director of Operations as appropriate.
- Conduct regular assessments of building systems and recommend improvements to operational efficiency, reliability, and PUE performance.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and site regulatory requirements, promoting a strong culture of operational safety.
- Support site infrastructure expansion and MEP upgrade projects by coordinating with PMO, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience supervising professional or skilled technical teams, including assigning work, tracking progress, and reviewing performance.
- Ability to interpret management direction and established processes and convert them into clear operational plans.
- Strong understanding of data centre electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS, PDU, generators, HV/LV switchgear, CRAC/CRAH units, and chillers.
- Practical experience leading preventive and corrective maintenance programmes in a mission-critical environment.
- Proficient in CMMS systems and work order management.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to team members and peers.
- Able to build effective working relationships with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in both the local language and English is required.
Experience & Education
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in critical facilities operations, maintenance, or engineering environments, including at least 3–5 years in a supervisory, team lead, or management capacity.
- Proven track record of leading and developing professional and skilled technical teams, with direct responsibility for personnel management and performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Applied Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
- Valid HSE certification ( or equivalent local occupational health and safety qualification) required; OSHA 30 certification preferred or to be obtained within a specified period following hire.
- Strong understanding of local regulatory requirements, utility infrastructure, and electrical grid operations is highly desirable.
The starting salary will be no less than €43,601.88 gross per year and the final offer will be fine tuned based on gender neutral criteria of candidates, including but not limited to competencies, responsibilities, effort and work conditions.
