We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer who can provide technical leadership across complex software projects. You will play a key role in defining engineering standards, guiding architectural decisions, and ensuring that our applications remain secure, scalable, and maintainable.
This is a senior individual contributor position with leadership responsibilities. You will work closely with software engineers, product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to turn challenging requirements into reliable technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Software Architecture:
Design and review scalable application architectures for enterprise systems, cloud platforms, and business-critical services. Ensure that technical solutions meet performance, security, reliability, and maintainability requirements.
Technical Leadership:
Provide technical direction to engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Support engineers in resolving complex technical challenges and making sound implementation decisions.
Software Development:
Design, build, test, and maintain high-quality software components and services. Contribute directly to critical areas of the codebase while encouraging clean, reusable, and well-documented development practices.
Code Quality:
Lead code reviews and promote consistent engineering standards. Improve automated testing, documentation, observability, deployment practices, and technical governance across development teams.
Platform Scalability:
Identify performance limitations and recommend improvements to application architecture, databases, cloud infrastructure, and integration services. Ensure systems can support increasing users, data volumes, and transaction demands.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with product managers, solution architects, quality assurance teams, and business stakeholders. Translate product and operational requirements into practical technical plans.
Engineering Mentorship:
Mentor junior, mid-level, and senior software engineers. Encourage knowledge sharing, provide constructive technical feedback, and support the professional development of team members.
Technical Risk Management:
Identify architectural risks, security concerns, technical debt, and delivery dependencies. Recommend solutions that balance business priorities with long-term platform stability.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including experience providing technical leadership on large or complex software projects.
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of software architecture, object-oriented programming, API development, distributed systems, databases, application security, and cloud-based deployment.
Programming Skills:
Advanced experience with one or more modern programming languages such as Java, C Sharp, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or a comparable enterprise technology.
Cloud Knowledge:
Practical experience working with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or similar cloud environments. Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, and continuous integration is highly desirable.
Engineering Practices:
Strong understanding of automated testing, design patterns, version control, code review, DevOps practices, monitoring, and secure software development.
Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to guide technical teams, mentor engineers, influence architectural decisions, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education:
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
Language Skills:
Professional proficiency in English is required. Italian language ability is beneficial for local collaboration but is not essential for all projects.
