Your mission
In this role, you will be responsible for testing electromechanical systems, verifying compliance with international safety and performance standards, and managing the product certification process for a range of industrial solutions. You will contribute to the development and launch of electrification and automation systems used in ports, airports, heavy industry, and transportation fields.
Key Responsabilities:
Perform equipment testing and reporting of the results, according to test plan
Define test equipments, procedure and condition to perform reliable testing
Test equipments to investigate performances of the defined range of product, when required, according to a long term plan
Align the electrical team with the mechanical team for a seamless integration
Produce technical project documentation and test documentation
Variable Frequency Drives programming, settings and parametrization
Define the instrumentation diagrams, together with the software developers, mechanical teams and suppliers
Design, develop, and execute test plans for new and existing products both internally and at external (3rd party) facilities
Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage
Analyze and interpret test results, identify deviations, and collaborate with design teams to resolve issues and optimize product performance.
Contribute to products qualification, validation (testing), and certifications (Class approval) activities
Support engineering and quality teams during design reviews, FMEA sessions, and root cause analysis of non-conformities
Plan, design, and execute functional, mechanical, electrical, and environmental test procedures on products such as motorized cable reels, power units, charging interfaces, and distribution panels
Ensure products meet applicable regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., IEC, ISO, UL,CE, EMC, LVD, Machinery Directive)
Manage certification processes with third-party laboratories and notified bodies, preparing and maintaining all necessary technical documentation (e.g., test reports, risk assessments, declarations of conformity)
Define and implement test protocols for type testing, design validation, and regression testing, both manual and automated
What we are looking for:
Proven experience with product testing in electromechanical, electrical or industrial systems
Proficiency in selecting sensors and actuators based on project requirements and specifications
Experience with programming motor drives and setting programming parameters (ABB, Siemens, Vacon-Danfoss, Yaskawa)
Read and write electrical diagram, understanding of hydraulics diagrams is a plus.
Ability to troubleshoot and debug technical issues related to sensors, actuators, and motor drives
Hands on experience on low voltage switchgears and control panels.
Understanding of safety standards and risk analysis methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SIL, PL).
Familiarity with quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and CE/UKCA marking processes
Knowledge of LV control panels schematics is required (LV/MV power switchgears would be a plus)
Good level of English and fluency in Italian
