JOB SUMMARY AND SCOPE
The Key Account Manager is responsible for developing and managing strategic customers (Utility, EPC, Investment funds, …) to ensure effective coverage of the market segment.
The role combines business development, National key account management and technical-commercial support. It requires a strong understanding of the photovoltaic market, and the commercial dynamics of the industry.
The ideal candidate has approximately more than 5 years of sales experience in the solar sector, gained with manufacturers or suppliers of photovoltaic modules, inverters, energy storage systems or other solar-related technologies.
ACTIVITIES AND AREA OF RESPONSABILITIES
- Develop and execute the sales strategy and plan for assigned customers, new customers, market segments and geographical areas.
- Manage and grow relationships with strategic customers, acting as their main commercial point of contact.
- Acquire new customers and strengthen the company’s presence in the target market.
- Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, framework agreements and tender submissions.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal and After-Sales teams.
- Monitor projects from the initial opportunity through negotiation, order placement, delivery and post-sales follow-up.
- Prepare account plans, sales forecasts, opportunity reviews and regular management reports.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing developments and changes in customer demand.
- Participate in trade fairs, customer meetings, industry events and technical-commercial presentations.
- Support the launch of new products and solutions in the assigned market.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and promptly manage commercial or operational issues.
- Secure technical / commercial feedback from the market to develop new plans (new product, new commercial plans,…)
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of the photovoltaic industry and its main commercial and market dynamics is a must.
- Good understanding of solar modules, inverters, energy storage systems and related balance-of-system components.
- Ability to understand technical specifications, product performance, certifications, warranties and system requirements.
- Knowledge of commercial models and sales channels in the solar industry.
- Experience working with distributors, contractors, project developers, installers or utilities.
- Strong knowledge of pricing models, margins, commercial terms and contract negotiation.
- Ability to prepare and explain technical-commercial proposals.
- Good command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, CRM and forecast tools.
- Fluent English; knowledge of additional languages relevant to the assigned market is an advantage.

STUDIES AND PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, or technical background
- An engineering qualification is preferred but may be replaced by significant technical-sales experience in the solar industry.
- More than 5 years of B2B sales experience, with substantial experience in the photovoltaic or renewable energy sector (photovoltaic module industry is particularly relevant).
- Proven track record in managing strategic customers and delivering sustainable sales growth.
- Established network within the solar industry is a must
