MSC Technology Italia is looking for a Telecommunication Developer with experience in low-level C development within Linux environments. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, customization, and integration of software components supporting next-generation telecommunication systems based on Open Source Telecom Stacks.
This role is ideal for engineers passionate about systems programming, Linux architectures, and communication technologies, with the opportunity to work on GSM, LTE, and 5G solutions supporting MSC's digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain software modules in C for Linux-based telecommunication systems.
- Contribute to the customization and integration of Open Source Telecom Stacks.
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Linux environments, networking services, and system components.
- Support the integration of telecom software with SDR platforms and communication hardware.
- Analyze and debug telecom protocols using monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Participate in software testing, validation, and performance optimization activities.
- Produce technical documentation and support software integration and maintenance.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable communication solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Experience in low-level C development within Linux environments.
- Good knowledge of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and debugging techniques.
- Familiarity with Open Source Telecom Stacks (e.g., Osmocom, srsRAN, Open5GS) or similar frameworks.
- Basic understanding of GSM, LTE, and 5G network architectures and communication protocols.
- Knowledge of Python for scripting and automation is considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Good communication skills and professional proficiency in English.

The position will be classified within the Employee category, at one of the C2, C3, B1 or B2 levels under the Italian Metalworking Industry National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanico Industria).
The classification level and any additional remuneration components supplementing the base salary will be determined based on an assessment, carried out during the selection process, of objective and neutral criteria such as, by way of example, the candidate’s professional experience, technical skills, level of autonomy and the responsibilities required by the role.
