Short description of the position:
Eurac Research is seeking a highly motivated Post-Doc Researcher or Senior Researcher to join our Photovoltaic Energy Systems Group, focusing on built-environment integrated photovoltaics (IPV).
To support Italy’s decarbonization goals, our team works on innovative PV integration solutions for buildings and infrastructures, as well as dual-purpose land use (e.g., agrivoltaics).
The successful candidate will support our team in strengthening the competitiveness of the integrated photovoltaic sector in Italy, driving the development of innovative, customized products for architectural integration in facade elements, by collaborating with local, national and international stakeholders in the PV and construction industries. The successful candidate will contribute to international research collaborations and help advance the understanding and development of IPV technologies.
Tasks:
Carry out management and technological development tasks for public and privately funded projects;
Contribute to proposal writing and securing research funding for new projects;
Support IPV solutions development and real implementation focusing on aesthetics, cost, reliability, circularity and sustainability based on architects/designer specifications;
Coordinate effectively with internal team and external partners, including industry stakeholders;
Publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals and present results at leading international conferences;
Mentor junior researchers and internships and contribute to strategic research activities;
Contribute to European and international research collaborations and projects (e.g. IEA PVPS, Horizon Europe).
Requirements:
PhD in Engineering, Architecture, Physics or a related field, with a background in photovoltaics;
Good knowledge of English, written and spoken. Italian and/or German are desirable;
Interest in developing a professional future in the field of integrated photovoltaic systems;
Proficiency in Python (or equivalent) for scientific computing;
Previous experience of working with EU research projects (e.g. H2020, LIFE, etc.), preferably also in proposal writing and funding acquisition;
Good knowledge of PV technology and IPV applications;
Demonstrated scientific excellence and professional autonomy, with a track record of publishing in scientific journals and conference presentations;
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in international, multidisciplinary teams, with a clear orientation to results and generation of new ideas;
A Plus If You Also Have:
Knowledge of BIM environment and AI tools;
Previous experience in intellectual property management and collaboration agreements;
Laboratory experience with characterization devices for photovoltaics and/or PV materials;
Knowledge of PV standards;

Gross annual salary ranging from 44.247,32 € to 51.629,57 €

Employment classification and applicable collective agreement: 2° level of the Italian National Collective Labour Agreement for the Tertiary/Commerce Sector
Gross Annual Salary range: the gross annual salary range is primarily linked to the advertised position, its requirements and expected level, and is defined according to Eurac Research’s internal remuneration framework. The candidate’s highest academic degree and any relevant professional experience documented in the CV are taken into account where applicable, but always within the salary range defined for the advertised position. The range also reflects whether the position is full-time or part-time.
