Within MDC (Milan Design Center), the RAC (Residential Air Conditioning) team focuses on combining the technological excellence of a world-leading corporation with the Italian and European project culture, to envision and design air treatment products people love.
Midea Italia S.r.l. is looking for an Industrial Design Intern to join MDC RAC team.
In this role you will support the team in conceiving, designing and delivering the next generation of Midea’s air treatment products, both advanced concepts as well as line up units.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
- Support the internal and external teams in the development of innovative and functional RAC solutions
- Contribute to the creation of original and feasible design concepts aligned with user needs and project requirements
- Assist in developing 3D models, realistic renderings, videos, mock-ups, and prototypes in compliance with technical and manufacturing constraints
- Participate in ideation sessions and collaborative workshops with cross-functional teams
- Help prepare engaging storytelling materials and presentations to effectively communicate design concepts to stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS
- Fluent written and spoken Italian and English (Chinese or Korean knowledge a preferred plus)
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent 3D CAD modeling and rendering skills (Rhinoceros and Keyshot mandatory)
- Good sketching skills (analog or digital)
- Good graphic skills (Adobe Creative Cloud)
- Good user research skills (quantitative and qualitative)
- Knowledge of collaborative working platforms (Miro, Figma)
- Knowledge of mockup techniques (analog and 3D printing)
- Knowledge of generative AI tools for design
The ideal candidate also demonstrates strong adaptability, flexibility in managing evolving project needs, and a collaborative approach with excellent teamwork skills.
