A Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for identifying new business opportunities and generating qualified leads for the sales team. They build relationships with potential clients, introduce the company's products or services, and help drive revenue growth by expanding the customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential customers through online research, referrals, and networking.
- Prospect and reach out to leads via phone, email, social media, and other communication channels.
- Qualify prospects by understanding their business needs and determining their suitability.
- Schedule meetings and product demonstrations for Account Executives or Sales Managers.
- Maintain accurate customer information and sales activities in the CRM system.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients.
- Follow up with leads and nurture them through the early stages of the sales process.
- Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to improve lead generation strategies.
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for lead generation and appointments.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and company products or services.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, telemarketing, or business development is an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Confidence in cold calling and outbound prospecting.
- Goal-oriented with strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software (such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Zoho CRM).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
