Job Description:
We now have an opportunity for a strong, highly motivated individual to join us as EHS Manager based in our plant in Parma (Italy) which produces beverage aluminium cans, operating 7/7, 24h/24h on a continuous shift system. The role reports to the Plant Manager and functionally to the EHS Manager Bevcan EMEA. You will handle the Environment, Health & Safety responsibilities for the plant, ensuring that best practice and statutory obligations are fully met and that a safety culture is developed.
Health & Safety
o Provide expert advice to Line Managers
o Promote the application of best practices to meet statutory requirements, whilst being driven for a maximum employee engagement
o Manage and develop the OHSAS 18001 system
o Manage and ensure the compliance with site safety policies
o Ensure all employees are competently trained with regards to EHS matters, with a focus on behavioural safety
Environment
o Monitor legislation change and ensure compliance with legal requirements
o Manage and develop the ISO 14001 standard system in all its aspects
o Ensure safe and correct disposal of all waste streams arising in normal or abnormal situations
o Collect relevant data relating to environmental performance and issues and furnish appropriate personnel and authorities with this information.
o Organise, co-ordinate and/or provide support to environmental related projects to reduce waste, solvents and air emissions and the costs thereof
Accidents & Incidents
o Investigate all incidents, near-misses and accidents, and initiate effective corrective actions if appropriate
o Investigate complaints arising from environmental impacts
o Promote accident prevention activities and devise and communicate One Point Safety lessons, Safety Campaigns and initiatives to enhance Safe Working behaviours
Communications
o Develop and progress Plant's annual EHS management programme, including projects and budget management
o Collect all monthly data, statistics and KPIs in respect of EHS for presentation to Executive Team
o Report on the performance of the Management Systems and continuous improvements goals
o Raise environment, food hygiene and health and safety awareness in the plant
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in Health & Safety (or equivalent), as well as equivalent Environmental qualifications, with working experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 Management systems
- Recognised qualification on Risk Prevention
- Working knowledge of EHS legislation
- Strong knowledge of standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001) development and keeping
- Minimum 5 years working experience at a plant level or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge (Black Belt preferably)
- Computer literate
- Languages: Italian, English
