About the Role
Keysight Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Technician (Advanced) to join the Protocol Center of Excellence (CoE) in Milan. This position plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing, troubleshooting, repair, and qualification activities for advanced wireless communication systems and RF-based products.
The successful candidate will work closely with Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Service, and NPI teams to ensure products meet Keysight's high standards for quality, performance, and customer satisfaction. The role requires strong hands-on technical skills, particularly in hardware troubleshooting and repair of RF modules and complex electronic assemblies, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:
Hardware Troubleshooting and Repair

Diagnose and troubleshoot failures on RF modules, electronic assemblies, and complete systems.

Perform board-level and module-level repair activities using electrical schematics, test equipment, and diagnostic tools.

Identify root causes of manufacturing and field-return failures and implement corrective actions.

Support qualification, validation, and verification activities for new and existing products.
Manufacturing Support
-
Provide technical support to manufacturing operations to ensure product quality, delivery performance, and process stability.

Support production testing, debugging, assembly, and integration activities.
-
Collaborate with engineering teams during new product introduction (NPI) and production transfer activities.

Assist in developing and improving manufacturing processes, work instructions, and technical documentation.
Equipment Maintenance

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of manufacturing test equipment, fixtures, and tools.

Support calibration and verification activities of measurement systems and test equipment.

Ensure equipment reliability and availability to support manufacturing schedules.
Continuous Improvement & RCA
-
Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations related to quality, manufacturing, and reliability issues.

Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects, improving yield, and increasing operational efficiency.

Maintain accurate repair records, failure analysis reports, and technical documentation.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications

Technical Diploma or Bechelor Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Minimum 3/5 years of experience in manufacturing, repair, test, or technical support environments.

Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies and hardware systems.

Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics.

Experience using laboratory and diagnostic equipment such as:
- Oscilloscopes

Spectrum Analyzers

Signal Generators

Digital Multimeters

Network Analyzers

Ability to interpret electrical schematics, manufacturing documentation, and technical drawings.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently as well as within multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with RF modules, wireless communication systems, or telecommunications equipment.

Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis methodologies (5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, etc.).

Experience supporting manufacturing equipment maintenance and calibration activities.

Familiarity with NPI (New Product Introduction) environments.

Knowledge of quality and continuous improvement methodologies.

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Salesforce) and manufacturing documentation processes and tool like JIRA, Confluence.

Previous experience in high-tech electronics or instrumentation industries.
