Position Summary
We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. The Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close process, reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Month-End Close: Participate in the month-end closing process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and variance analysis reports.
- Accounts Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and inter-company reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee AP/AR functions, ensuring timely payments and collections. Review invoices for accuracy and proper approval.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of sales tax returns, 1099s, and other regulatory filings; support external auditors during tax season.
- Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in accounting processes and recommend improvements to automation and controls.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Software: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Communication: Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
