THE ROLE
You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where junior and senior scientists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal.
The “Synthetic and Systems Biology for Biomedicine” Research Unit, coordinated by Dr. Velia Siciliano, focuses, among other objectives, on engineering the next generation of T cell therapies. The current goal is to bring to preclinical models novel T cells engineered with sensors that monitor the activity and functionality of T cells.
Within the research team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Develop pipeline protocols for the transient expression of exogenous genes in T cells
- Design and analyse experiments based on transient and stable integration of therapeutic genes in T cells
- Analyse and guide bioinformatics-based predictions to identify new therapeutic target to improve T cell therapies
- Write protocols for ethical approval
- Supervising and mentoring junior members of the team
- Writing research articles as well as assisting in generating preliminary data and figures for grant proposals
- Writing patents and focusing on technology transfer
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology or similar
- Extensive experience T cells handling, manipulation, transduction, flow cytometry
- Experience in molecular biology, bioinformatics tool and analysis
- Experience with ethical protocols writing
- Good publication record
- Strong command of spoken and written English
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment

- A yearly gross salary up to 48k euro, plus bonus option
