Your Everyday at Nexi
We are seeking a talented and experienced Product Manager ECR specializing in Point of Sale (POS) systems, telematic cash registers, and retail management/fiscal software for the Italian market.
In this role based in Milan, you will be the key driver for the evolution of our product portfolio (software and/or hardware), leading the roadmap from inception to market launch. You will work closely with software development teams, hardware partners, legal/compliance departments, and marketing to ensure our solutions are not only innovative and user-friendly but also rigorously compliant.
About Your Future Role
In this position, you will:
1. Product Vision & Roadmap Definition
- Define, plan, and manage the product roadmap for POS systems and associated cloud/on-premise retail management software.
- Gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into detailed technical specifications and user stories for the development teams.
Continuously monitor the product lifecycle, defining and tracking key success metrics.

2. Fiscal Compliance & Integrations (Italy Focus)
- Actively monitor updates to Italian fiscal regulations regarding retail trade and large-scale distribution (e.g., Telematic Recorders/ Registratori Telematici , XML daily transactional report transmissions, Receipt Lottery/ Lotteria degli Scontrini , Electronic Invoicing, and POS/digital payment regulations).
- Collaborate with tax consultants and certification bodies to guarantee hardware and software compliance with the guidelines of the Italian Revenue Agency ( Agenzia delle Entrate ).
Oversee the integration of POS software with key payment systems (EFT-POS), third-party ERPs, and e-commerce platforms to enable a seamless omnichannel experience.

3. Cross-functional Collaboration & UX/UI
- Partner closely with software engineering teams (Agile/Scrum) to ensure timely, high-quality releases.
- Work alongside UX/UI designers to optimize the checkout interface, ensuring fast, intuitive, and error-proof workflows for store operators (Retail, HoReCa, etc.).
Support Sales, Customer Support, and Customer Success teams by providing training materials, technical documentation, and product demonstrations.

4. Market Analysis & Benchmarking
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends in POS systems, smart checkout technologies, and digital payments.
Perform competitive analysis on major POS and retail software players in the Italian market.

What We Value in You
We’re looking for someone eager to make a difference. Here’s what qualifications we value:
Technical Skills & Experience (Hard Skills):
- Experience: +7 years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner within the POS, retail/hospitality management software, or ERP solutions sector.
- Italian Fiscal Knowledge: Deep understanding of Italian fiscal compliance workflows (Telematic Recorders, XML transmission files for daily revenues, electronic invoicing via the SDI - Sistema di Interscambio ).
- Hardware & IoT Experience (Preferred): Familiarity with managing the lifecycle of physical checkout devices (fiscal printers, POS terminals) and their communication protocols/drivers (e.g., Xon/Xoff, industry standards).
- Development Methodologies: Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and product management tools (Jira, Confluence, Productboard).
- Data-driven Mindset: Proven ability to leverage quantitative and qualitative data to drive product decisions.
Interpersonal Skills (Soft Skills):
- Problem Solving & Precision: Exceptional attention to detail, which is critical when dealing with fiscal, accounting, and compliance logic.
- Communication & Leadership: Ability to articulate complex technical and regulatory concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Customer Empathy: A strong focus on the end-user (cashier, merchant, store manager) to understand and solve their daily operational pain points.
Education & Languages:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
Languages: Native or fluent in Italian (essential for analyzing national fiscal laws and communicating with local authorities) and professional working proficiency in English (for collaboration with international partners or global tech teams).

Gross annual salary range: €60,000.00 – €80,000.00 + company bonus
