Role Summary
We are looking for a knowledgeable IT Specialist to manage our company’s IT infrastructure, ensure system security, and provide technical support to our staff. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
Key Responsibilities
- Help Desk Support: Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance. Resolve issues related to hardware, software, networking, and peripheral equipment via phone, email, or in-person.
- System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), software applications, and server environments.
- Network Management: Monitor and maintain network stability (LAN/WAN/VPN), including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and manage security protocols, including antivirus software, patch management, and data backup/recovery procedures to protect against cyber threats.
- Asset Management: Track IT inventory, manage hardware lifecycles (procurement, deployment, retirement), and maintain software licensing compliance.
- Onboarding/Offboarding: Set up new user accounts, workstations, and access permissions; deactivate accounts and recover equipment for departing employees.
- Documentation: Create and update IT documentation, including knowledge base articles, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors for hardware repairs, internet services, and software support.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
- Certifications (Preferred): CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or Cisco CCNA.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and O365/Azure administration.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
