For the opening of the new exclusive Akira Back restaurant, The St. Regis Rome is casting for a Chef de rang.
The ideal candidate is able to provide an outstanding customer service to our international guests whilst delivering service to the highest standards.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Specialty Restaurant Manager, the role will be part of the AB Restaurant team, proud to engage our guests and to create exquisite moments.
Serve food courses and alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages to guests. Answer questions on menu selections. Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recook orders, and product availability. Follow cycle time guidelines for all meals. Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day. Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen. Inspect the cleanliness and presentation all chinaware, glassware, and silverware prior to use. Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of assigned tables including ensuring courses are cleared and tables are properly crumbed. Communicate with guests and other employees and ensure staff is working together as a team to ensure optimum service.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
- Welcome guests and promptly attend to their tables, delivering a warm and personalized service experience.
- Serve food and beverages to guests, providing knowledgeable recommendations.
- Demonstrate excellent menu knowledge and confidently assist guests with questions, dietary requirements and special requests.
- Record transactions in the MICROS system correctly and timely.
- Anticipate the needs of the guests and check-in throughout the dining experience to assure satisfaction with food and beverage offerings.
- Clean tables, complete closing duties and re-stock tableware and other supplies.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen regarding menu questions, waiting time, recook orders, product availability, allergies, dietary requirements and special requests.
- Follow cycle time guidelines for all meals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout the shift.
- Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all chinaware, glassware, silverware and service equipment prior to use.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures and brand identity guidelines.
- Comply with all company, health, safety and security policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
- Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
- Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
- Welcome guests and be the AB concept brand ambassador; manage guest’s requests and complaints in line with our service culture.
- Comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policies.
Assist colleagues and support other operational areas when required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- A team Player with flexible & positive attitude.
- Exceptional storytelling and guest engagement skills.
- Passion for the hospitality industry.
- Possess a good command of English and Italian.
- An excellent verbal manner and proven customer service skills.
- Good knowledge or experience in the hospitality industry, Asian, Japanese or fusion dining concept preferred.
- Good organization skills with attention to detail.
- Good leadership and training experience.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment & remain calm under pressure.
- Be able to demonstrate experience in complaint handling.
- Strong grooming standards and professional presentation.
Availability to work late nights, weekends, and bank holidays as we operate 365 days a year.
