Your impact
Jacobs is seeking a Permitting Specialist to join our dynamic environmental team in Italy, contributing to a portfolio of impactful and innovative projects at both local and international levels.
At Jacobs, you’ll have the opportunity to build and refine your specialist expertise through a combination of structured training programs and close collaboration with a diverse network of professionals, including engineers, geologists, and chemists, within a truly global and inclusive environment.
In this role, you’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team of project managers, auditors, scientists, engineers, and planners. Through ongoing collaboration and communication, you will play a key role in delivering successful outcomes for our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
Contribute to the development of environmental projects across all stages of the project lifecycle, leveraging your expertise to add value and drive high-quality outcomes
Provide technical support to the Milan team across a range of environmental services, including permitting and planning, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, due diligence reviews, and compliance audits
Support initiatives related to energy transition and climate-focused projects
Ensure adherence to company standards and procedures in quality, environmental management, sustainability, and health & safety
Actively contribute to and promote key company values, including technical excellence, innovation, sustainability, health and safety, and inclusion and diversity
Approach assigned tasks with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and project stakeholders
Here's what you'll need
Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline
1-5 years of experience in environmental consultancy/permitting sector
Solid understanding of key environmental permitting regulations (e.g., AIA, AUA, VIA)
Good knowledge of core EHS regulations and sustainability principles
Strong data management and reporting capabilities
Fluency in Italian and English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus
Ability to manage multiple priorities, remain adaptable, and work independently
Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
Innovative mindset with an interest in digital tools and visual communication
