Eli Lilly Italia is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team at the Sesto Fiorentino (FI) site. The role is dedicated to the Formulation & Component Preparation area of our pre-filled syringes production. Working side by side with the production teams, you will be hands-on from day one: on the shop floor, on the equipment, on the problems that come up during the shift. It is the fastest way to build real technical expertise on systems operating in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment, and to own it.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for all the systems under your responsibility within Formulation & Component Preparation
- Work with the Operational Support Team to ensure Work Orders are correctly closed within due dates and maintenance programs are properly implemented
- Analyze KPIs across Preventive Maintenance, WO execution, HSE, Quality, and Data Integrity, and evaluate projects to improve them
- Identify anomalies and issues occurring on the systems, and work with the team to solve them and avoid recurrences
- Propose upgrade and revamping initiatives to make the systems more reliable and more efficient
- Ensure top efficiency, availability, and performance of the systems
- Develop, integrate, and review SOPs and Technical Assessments for the systems under your responsibility
- Lead and manage projects and changes regarding the systems under your responsibility
- Plan Shut Down activities and work with the Maintenance Manager during the Shut Down period to complete all assigned tasks
- Interact with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and propose an adequate plan of action
- Interface with external contractors in case of needs or to involve them in projects when required
- Actively promote and support an interdependent HSE culture, with attention to Quality and Data Integrity in every activity
Basic Requirements
- Master's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical)
- 1 year of experience in engineering, maintenance, or technical support, preferably in a complex industrial setting (internship or thesis experience in a pharmaceutical is a plus)
- English fluency (B2+)
- Attention to HSE aspects
- Attention to Quality and Data Integrity aspects
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Knowledge of maintenance basics and its metrics
- Knowledge of main utilities equipment
- Knowledge of PED directive and other regulations related to machinery (Machinery Directive and similar)
- Attitude to teamwork and problem solving
