The project focuses on the usability engineering process in accordance with the international standards IEC 62366-1:2015 “Application of usability engineering to medical devices” and IEC/TR 62366-2:2016 “Guidance on the application of usability engineering to medical devices.”
The objective is to collect and analyze usability data for medical devices such as washer-disinfectors, bedpan washers, and endoscope drying cabinets. Evaluating the interaction between users and devices supports design optimization, ensuring safety, effectiveness, and compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with different teams (R&D, Quality, Marketing)
- Identification of Use-related risks, Use environments, Use specifications
- Planning and conductiong Usability tests (at Steelco HQ and at customer site)
- Collect and analyze feedback from user studies
- Prepare Usability documentation:
- Usability questionnaire for users
- Usability Engineering File
- Usability Test Reports
Skills & Competencies
- Understand the functioning of Steelco medical devices
- Prepare technical documentation
- Strong interest in medical devices
- Basic knowledge of medical device regulations and standards (e.g., IEC 62366-1, ISO 14971)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to collect, interpret, and report data
- Effective communication and ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Good command of English (written and spoken)
Required Education
- Degree (completed or in progress) in a scientific/technical field
