WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
Position requires availability to work rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on operational requirements. Specific work schedules will be discussed during the interview process and finalized upon selection in accordance with operational needs and Conditions of Employment (COE) requirements.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for shift operation of an exchange branch facility. Oversees associates in the execution of strategies to deliver a tailored customer experience within assigned areas. Utilizes leadership skills to empower associates to create a positive environment that drives the customer experience and exchange brand loyalty.
1. Ensures a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service. Greets each customer upon contact and/or line of sight, assesses their needs, suggests alternative options, and provides resolution. Keeps their needs foremost and creates a welcoming environment, actively engages, and builds trust relationship with the customer in order to deliver a personalized shopping experience.
2. Leads associates utilizing effective communications skills. Trains and coaches associates to ensure they are well-equipped to provide a personalized shopping experience. Supervises day-to-day operations of an assigned shift to include opening and closing of facility and maintaining schedules
3. Ensures associates have sales skills to serve the customer in assigned area(s). Trains/coaches associates on merchandise presentation standards including, but not limited to, arranging space on sales floor, displaying promotional merchandise signing, price changes, maintaining shelf labels, keeping sales area fully stocked, receiving, and ordering merchandise, checking gas levels, assisting with military uniform dress requirements, and cleanliness of the area.
4. Actively communicates/promotes the benefits of the military star credit card, exchange protection plan, and other corporate programs to customers to drive sales growth and increase customer brand loyalty.
5. Communicates performance expectations and maintains employee communication folders to include communication record, time and attendance record, job description, and checklist. Provides effective feedback on adherence to established performance standards and recommends development opportunities.
6. Ensures loss prevention and accountability procedures are followed and minimizes all controllable expenses. Assures compliance with fire, safety, sanitation, and security regulations, as well as ensuring the security of fixed assets, cash, and inventory. Adheres to environmental protection agency guidelines.
7. May operate a cash register or other sales related equipment to enter new accounts, conduct sales, refunds, prepares change funds, and deposits or similar transactions. May be required to verify and accept multiple tenders for payment and make change with accuracy and zero variance tolerance.
8. Participates in conducting and taking required inventories.
9. Complies with applicable directives, policies and procedures. Actively supports and implements applicable eeo laws and programs within the exchange.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Regularly lifts, carries, pushes, and pulls merchandise. Requires frequent standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and repetitive motions such as lifting, stacking, and stocking.
SUPERVISORY CONTROL
Works under general supervision of the retail store manager or higher graded supervisor. Complies with regulations and procedures set forth in applicable operations manuals and internal instructions and procedures. Performance is appraised in terms of adequacy of customer service and operational efficiency. The operation is subject to periodic inspections, inventories, and audits.
Qualification requirements
Completion of high school or equivalent education is required. Must possess retail experience. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and computer skills are required. Must demonstrate the ability to manage operations within a fast-paced retail environment and accurately handle financial transactions. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods and lifting/moving merchandise as required.
MUST BE FLUENT IN SPOKEN AND WRITTEN ENGLISH.
