The role
As a
Junior Accountant, you will support the Finance team in ensuring accurate and compliant accounting in line with
Local GAAP and Group GAAP. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and international finance teams and gradually develop towards independent responsibility for accounting and closing activities. The role is based
north of Milan.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (Sales Ledger):
- Perform daily banking postings and reconciliations
- Post customer invoices and credit notes
- Monitor outstanding receivables and support debt collection activities
- Prepare and send monthly customer statements
- Handle customer account queries (invoices, proof of delivery, statements)
- Maintain customer master data and credit limits in SAP
Accounts Payable (Purchase Ledger):
- Post expense and stock invoices, including intercompany invoices
- Prepare and process supplier and intercompany payments in line with agreed terms
- Maintain vendor master data
- Control purchase orders and ensure proper authorization
- Manage and post credit card and expense claims
- Handle supplier and expense-related queries Taxes, Payroll & Statutory Reporting
- Support payroll reconciliations and statutory payments
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure timely submission and payment
- Prepare Intrastat declarations (arrivals)
- Support annual VAT and employment-related declarations according to local legal requirements General Ledger & Banking
- Maintain general ledger accounts and post standard journals
- Prepare and post bank journals and perform bank reconciliations
- Support intercompany reconciliations Reporting & Compliance
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
- Assist with budget monitoring and reporting
- Support internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and group finance guidelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- First professional experience (0–3 years) in accounting is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of SAP (ideally SAP S/4HANA) and MS Office
- Very good English communication skills
- Detail-oriented, structured, and eager to learn
