Your Role:
- Contribute to the definition, analysis and refinement of operational, functional and technical requirements for complex system-of-systems architectures.
- Support requirements traceability and ensure consistency between operational needs, system requirements, interface specifications and validation activities.
- Develop and review system concepts, functional architectures, data-flow models, interface descriptions and data-exchange models supporting interoperability between existing military and civilian systems.
- Support the analysis of civil–military interfaces, including the identification of relevant actors, information sources, communication flows, data formats and integration constraints.
- Assess the technological maturity, integration readiness, dependencies and potential limitations of software, hardware and CBRN system components, including through Technology Readiness Level assessments.
- Contribute to technical reviews, workshops, prototyping, system integration, verification, validation, testing and demonstration activities.
- Translate operational CBRN needs into technical use cases, system requirements, test cases and individual or collective training requirements. Analyse technical documentation, standards, architectures and solutions developed by project partners and external technology providers.
- Draft and review technical deliverables, engineering studies, requirements documents, interface descriptions and testing or validation reports.
- Contribute to the development of technical concepts and work plans for future European defence and security research proposals.
Candidate profile
- At least one year experience in systems engineering, systems integration, telecommunications engineering, defence technologies or related technical fields.
- Degree in systems engineering, computer science, telecommunications.
- Familiarity with system engineering methodologies, requirements engineering, systems integration and interoperability standards.
- Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architectural design, interface management, integration, verification and validation.
- Basic understanding of distributed information systems, communication networks, APIs, databases and structured data formats such as JSON or XML.
- Interest in defence, CBRN protection, military capabilities and emerging technologies. Ability to analyse technical documentation and interact with multidisciplinary and international teams.
