For our Milan office, we are looking for an MEP Construction Supervision Engineer to join our team.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
You are the ideal candidate if you:
- Have solid knowledge of civil and industrial building services systems, including plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, mechanical systems, sanitary systems, electromechanical systems, and special systems
- Are proactive, flexible, and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment
- Have a good command of English
- Are available for occasional business travel within Italy, mainly across Lombardy and surrounding areas
Your responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate the activities of site inspectors
- Supervise MEP installation works on civil and industrial construction sites
- Update and monitor the overall and detailed construction schedule
- Promptly report any delays in construction activities to the Construction Manager/Project Manager and propose appropriate corrective actions
- Support the Construction Manager in identifying and resolving design or construction issues
- Manage administrative procedures related to utility connections, including electricity, data networks, water supply, wastewater and stormwater systems, photovoltaic systems, and other building services
- Assist the Construction Manager in reviewing and approving shop drawings prepared by contractors
- Assist in reviewing and approving material submittals
- Assist in reviewing and approving as-built documentation
- Support the review and approval of construction methodologies
- Provide technical support for the preparation of design variations and change orders
- Assist in preparing responses to contractor claims and reservations
- Attend regular on-site coordination meetings with contractors and clients
- Support the review and approval of construction accounting and cost documentation (using software such as Primus or equivalent) before submission for final approval
- Prepare site inspection reports, construction progress updates, site diary notes, and non-conformance reports, highlighting critical issues and proposing technical solutions
- Assist testing and commissioning teams during inspection and acceptance procedures
- Verify that contractors comply with all statutory reporting and regulatory requirements throughout the construction phase
- Support the verification of subcontractor compliance and related documentation
- Review and approve testing, commissioning, and start-up procedures for MEP systems
