We are looking for a senior, hands-on professional to help strengthen and evolve our control framework within a fast-paced energy trading environment. This is a high-impact role where you will partner across the business to ensure controls are robust, practical, and fit for purpose—while supporting commercial agility.
You will work closely with Front Office, Risk, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Senior Management, acting as a trusted advisor and independent voice to enhance governance, risk awareness, and overall control effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, enhance, and implement a robust yet pragmatic control framework tailored to an energy trading business
- Identify control gaps, assess risks, and drive practical, sustainable improvements through to completion
- Partner with trading desks and support functions to understand workflows, risks, and key control points
- Lead investigations, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Strengthen governance, escalation practices, and overall risk awareness across the organization
- Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders
- Drive key strategic initiatives independently, with full ownership and accountability
- Balance strategic thinking with hands-on involvement in day-to-day operational matters
- Challenge constructively and facilitate difficult conversations to ensure the right outcomes
