Valiant is looking for a Temporary Fire Systems Manager to join our team! This position is located in Naples, Italy. In this role, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, and servicing of fire alarm and engineered/pre-engineered suppression systems. This role involves hands-on technical work, leadership responsibilities, customer interaction, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety codes and regulations. The Fire Systems Manager will also be responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, training, and maintaining a high standard of quality service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform the installation, inspection, and testing of fire alarm systems and fire suppression systems (engineered and pre-engineered) according to NFPA codes and standards.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain fire alarm and suppression systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Perform final system inspections, programming, and customer training on installed systems.
- Maintain accurate as-built drawings and system documentation.
- Record and document inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations, ensuring that all necessary forms are filled out accurately for proper invoicing and customer records.
- Provide copies of documentation and reports to customers upon service completion.
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with customers, addressing their questions, concerns, and needs.
- Provide clear explanations of system deficiencies, solutions, and corrective actions to clients.
- Evaluate customer sites to identify opportunities for additional equipment and service needs.
- Lead and mentor technicians within your area of expertise, providing guidance and support when needed.
- Work in coordination with the customer to schedule and ensure successful completion of job activities.
- Provide on-site or remote emergency troubleshooting of fire alarm and suppression systems, addressing urgent customer needs and resolving system issues as quickly as possible.
- Occasional work during nights, weekends, and holidays as required, depending on job site demands and urgency.
- Manage parts and equipment requests for specific jobs, ensuring that the necessary materials are available for timely completion.
- Ensure compliance with all required regulatory standards (e.g., NFPA 13, 20, 25, 72), as well as any state or OSHA regulations that apply.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
SECURITY REQUIREMENT: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, base access/DBIDS Active Secret Clearance preferred.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Active NICET Level III certification

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience with fire detection, alarm and suppression systems.
- Must be able to pass background check and any health screenings, as required by the military installation.
- Advanced understanding of NFPA standards, specifically NFPA 13, NFPA 20, NFPA 25 and NFPA 72.
- Strong understanding of low voltage wiring, electrical circuitry, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including Windows, Word, Outlook, and industry-specific software and devices.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must possess a valid U.S. passport and be willing/able to deploy to Naples, Italy, for the duration of the 30-90 day period with minimal ramp-up time.
Fire Alarm Systems:
- Fire Alarm:
- NICET Level II certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
- Detection and releasing systems for Special Hazard Systems such as those found in aircraft hangars and computer server rooms:
- NICET Level II certification in Special Hazard Systems
Water Based Suppression Systems:
- Wet Pipe and Dry Pipe Sprinklers:
- NICET Level II certification in Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems.
- Pre-Action, Deluge, Foam and Antifreeze Systems:
- NICET Level III certification in Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems.
Special Hazard Systems:
- Clean Agent, CO2 and Combination Detection/Releasing Systems:
- NICET Level II certification in Special Hazard Systems.
Pre-Engineered Kitchen Fire Extinguishing Systems:
- NICET Level II certification in Special Hazards Suppression Systems or certified by ICC/NAFED in Pre-Engineered Kitchen Fire Extinguishing Systems. The service technician shall have the applicable manufacturers design, installation, and maintenance manual and service bulletins.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with electrical wiring and circuitry.
- 3+ years of related experience, including team leadership and technical management responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors.
- Involves working in patient care areas, office environments, mechanical/electrical/telecom rooms, above ceilings, in crawl spaces, and potentially on rooftops.
- Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including adherence to hospital dress codes and infection control attire (gowns, masks, gloves as needed).
- May involve working at heights, on ladders, lifts, or in confined spaces as required for service and installation.
- May encounter dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Requires physical dexterity, standing, stooping, climbing, crawling, and lifting heavy objects to perform duties.
- Must be physically able to work on ladders, scaffolds, platforms, roofs and in cramped equipment rooms and other confined spaces.
- Excessive temperatures ranging from 10°F to 120° F.
- Possible exposure to low-voltage electrical hazards and potentially infectious materials (requiring adherence to safety protocols).
- May require entering confined spaces such as ductwork, pits, and crawl spaces.
- Requires fine motor skills for terminating small gauge wires and connectors.
- Ability to push 50 pounds (maintenance equipment); ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds (supplies and equipment)
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, lifts, or in confined spaces.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including heights, confined spaces, and during non-standard hours when needed.
