Position Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting strategic financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts; prepare journal entries and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, manage vendor payments, monitor client accounts, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including preparing accruals, prepayments, and depreciation schedules.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) and variance analysis reports for management.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in cash positions.
- Compliance & Taxation: Assist in preparing tax returns (Sales Tax, VAT, Corporate Income Tax) and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Audit Support: Provide supporting documentation and schedules for external and internal auditors during annual audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting procedures and internal controls to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
- Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification preferred (or actively pursuing).
Experience
- [X] years of experience in a general accounting role.
- Experience with [Industry-specific experience, e.g., SaaS, Manufacturing, Non-Profit] is a plus.
- Proficiency in [Specific ERP/Software, e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite] is required.
