Title: Design Manager
The Design Manager coordinates all design matters related to the project, helping to ensure that our multi-disciplinary project team works together smoothly and that everything is delivered on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities:
- Management of activities related to coordination / monitoring of design and in the study and value engineering opportunities.
- Management of technical interfaces, including planning and active coordination (verbal and follow-up actions) of meetings, workshops and on-site inspections between various designers and contractors involved in the project in order to ensure full interdisciplinary coordination.
- Management of activities related to coordination / monitoring of construction and in verifying the progress and quality of works in progress.
- Coordination of any Quality Assurance / Quality Control team for verification of quality of the works in progress for civil / construction, structural and infrastructural works.
- Review / updating and verification of schedule and drafting of periodic reporting documents about the design / construction activities, in coordination with the Project Control Manager.
- Management of risks related to design / construction activities and periodic updating of the project risk register, including identification of any prevention / mitigation / transfer actions of identified risks, in coordination with the Project Risk Manager.
- Verification of compliance with contractual agreements by designers and contractors, in coordination with the Project Contract Manager, including activities of design review and periodic inspection of works, activities of final snagging and final testing of the works.
- Participation in periodic progress / status meetings with clients and/or stakeholders, as well as any further activities in support of the Project Manager (if this responsibility is not assumed directly) according to any provisions received.
Key requirements:
- High proficiency with MS Office, Autodesk AutoCAD
- Advanced BIM knowledge
- BIM Management experience considered a plus
- MS Project or Primavera knowledge considered a plus
- PMP certified considered a plus
- Document Control systems, e.g. Aconex experience/knowledge is considered a plus
- Experience with verification of variants during construction considered a plus
- Ability to develop trust and communication among project stakeholders
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize daily workload and to work to tight deadlines
- High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Engineering or Architecture. Min. 10 years of experience in design and coordination of specialists of multiple disciplines. Background in engineering companies or project management consultancies. Excellent Italian (native-like) and very good English language proficiency (CEFR C level), French language skills considered an added advantage.
