Job Title: Renewable Energy Engineer

Position Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Renewable Energy Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical design, performance modeling, and economic optimization of renewable energy projects (Solar PV, BESS, and/or Wind).
You will bridge the gap between the commercial and construction teams, ensuring that our projects are technically feasible, financially viable, and built to the highest industry standards. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering, proficiency in industry-standard modeling software, and a passion for sustainable energy.
Key Responsibilities
Project Design & Modeling
- Lead the technical design and energy production modeling for utility-scale and commercial renewable projects using software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, and Homer Pro.
- Conduct site suitability assessments, including shading analysis, topographic mapping, and solar/wind resource assessments.
- Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), general arrangement drawings, and electrical system specifications.
Performance & Optimization
- Perform energy yield assessments and uncertainty analysis to predict plant performance (P50/P90 estimates).
- Optimize system layouts to maximize energy production while minimizing Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE).
- Analyze operational data from existing plants to identify performance gaps and recommend retrofits or improvements.
Technical Due Diligence
- Review and validate equipment specifications (solar panels, inverters, trackers, wind turbines, and battery systems).
- Support the project finance team by providing technical inputs for financial models and investor due diligence reports.
- Coordinate with third-party engineers and consultants for independent engineering reviews.
Construction & Commissioning Support
- Provide technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs (Requests for Information).
- Assist in the commissioning process to ensure systems operate according to design specifications.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in renewable energy engineering (Solar PV, BESS, or Wind).
- Proven track record of successfully modeling and designing projects >[Insert Size] MW.
Technical Skills:
- Software: Advanced proficiency in PVsyst (required) and AutoCAD (required). Experience with Helioscope, PVCase, or SKM is a plus.
- Standards: Deep understanding of NEC, IEC, and local building codes.
- Analytical: Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to handle large datasets (Python or Excel VBA skills are a plus).
- BESS Knowledge: Familiarity with battery energy storage system design and control strategies is highly desirable.

Pay: €31,581.71 - €63,694.67 per year
