THE ROLE
We are not just looking for technical skills. We are looking for people who can think critically, structure complexity, and turn requirements into action.
You might be a recent graduate or an early-career professional. That’s fine. What matters to us is not seniority, it’s mindset and capability.
This role is primarily focused on Governance, Risk & Compliance (around 80%), but it requires a solid understanding of operational cybersecurity (around 20%). We are not looking for someone who only writes policies. We need someone who understands how security controls work in practice and can connect regulatory requirements with real-world implementation.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Analyze regulations and security frameworks (e.g., NIS2, ISO 27001, national guidance) and extract concrete obligations
- Identify critical gaps, priorities, and deadlines
- Translate a gap analysis into a structured, realistic remediation plan
- Interact effectively with technical teams (SOC, infrastructure, application teams)
- Understand core operational domains such as incident response, vulnerability management, monitoring, IAM, and third-party risk
- Work with autonomy, analytical rigor, and structured thinking
YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF:
- You hold (or are completing) a Master’s degree or equivalent in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, or related fields;
- You are genuinely interested in cybersecurity governance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks (ISO 27001, NIS2, GDPR), and you want to understand how they translate into real operational controls;
- You are curious about security operations (SOC, incident detection and response, SIEM systems) and want to understand how governance and operations connect;
- You enjoy reasoning about complex systems, identifying gaps, structuring problems, and turning analysis into concrete actions;
- You’ve explored hands-on security topics (e.g., red teaming, OSINT, CTFs, lab environments) — even at a basic level — and you like understanding how attacks and defenses actually work.
You do not need to be a SOC analyst, but you must understand what effective security operations look like and be able to challenge, support, or formalize them within a governance framework.
We value clarity of thinking, synthesis capability, ownership, and the ability to move from “requirement” to “execution” without constant supervision.
You will join a small but strategic cybersecurity team within IIT’s ICT Directorate, contributing to the protection of sensitive infrastructures and supporting national and international compliance initiatives.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- A yearly gross salary ranging approximately between 40000 and 50000 euros, depending on seniority and experience, plus a bonus option in a range between 15% and 20% of the real salary
- Private health care coverage (depending on your role and contract)
- Wide range of staff discounts
- Flexible work arrangements: up to 10 days per month of remote work (on request) to support work-life balance.
