UpSurgeOn is an innovative MedTech company based in Milan, dedicated to transforming surgical education through hyper-realistic physical simulators combined with augmented and virtual reality technologies. Its neurosurgical training solutions are used by hospitals, universities, and medical societies across the globe, supporting the next generation of surgeons in developing hands-on skills before entering the operating room.
The Sales Specialist will drive revenue growth by identifying, engaging, and converting prospective customers — including hospitals, universities, medical societies, and distributors — into long-term UpSurgeOn partners. The role combines proactive outbound sales activity with relationship management of existing accounts, contributing directly to the company's international commercial expansion.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned territories or market segments (hospitals, universities, medical training centers, distributors).
- Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, product demonstration, negotiation, and closing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), clinical decision-makers, and procurement stakeholders.
- Deliver compelling product presentations and demonstrations of UpSurgeOn's simulation and AR/VR training solutions to clinical and academic audiences.
- Achieve and exceed individual sales targets and KPIs as defined by the Sales Manager.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, opportunities, and customer interactions in the CRM system.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing to convert qualified leads and provide field feedback to refine positioning and messaging.
- Support participation in medical conferences, trade shows, and industry events, representing UpSurgeOn's brand and products.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs, feeding insights back to the commercial and product teams.
- Prepare quotations, commercial proposals, and support contract negotiation in coordination with management.
Essential
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a B2B sales role, ideally within medical devices, MedTech, healthcare, or a related technical/scientific field.
- Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); Italian a strong plus. Additional languages are an advantage.
- Comfortable working with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and standard MS Office / Google Workspace applications.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for client visits, demonstrations, and conferences.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work autonomously as well as within a cross-functional team.
Preferred
- Degree in Business, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Existing network of contacts within hospitals, universities, or the surgical/medical training community.
- Prior experience selling capital equipment, training/education solutions, or simulation technologies.
- Familiarity with AR/VR technology or an interest in emerging MedTech innovation.
