Italdesign is looking for a chassis suspension Engineer to lead and perform advanced simulations and analyses of vehicle systems using multibody methodologies and CAD system. The role combines strong technical expertise in vehicle chassis subsystems, such as suspensions, steering, brakes, wheels, dampers, antirollbars, with ownership of simulation activities across projects, contributing to system concept definition, performance optimization, and integration at vehicle level. The candidate will support development programs, interface with OEMs and internal teams, and contribute to technical excellence and business growth chassis domains.
Responsibilities

development and execution of multibody simulations for chassis and vehicle systems

definition and correlation of vehicle models (full vehicle and subsystems)
-
definition and development of suspension systems, including architectures, kinematics & compliance (K&C), and component behavior (bushings, dampers, anti-roll bars, steering system, tires)

support system-level design activities with a clear understanding of suspension functionality, trade-offs, and performance targets
-
support vehicle integration activities, ensuring consistency between simulation models, CAD layouts, and package constraints
-
perform analyses of chassis systems with a focus on the interaction between simulation results and real system behavior
-
delivery of results in compliance with quality, cost, and timing targets
manage simulation activities across all development phases (concept- SOP)
-
ensure correlation between simulation and test data
-
manage input/output flows between departments (CAD, testing, durability, controls)
-
support co-engineering activities with OEMs and suppliers
-
contribute to data-driven decision making for vehicle performance optimization
Key requirements
-
5+ years of experience in automotive engineering with focus on chassis systems and multibody simulation
-
solid understanding of vehicle dynamics and system behavior, with proven knowledge of suspension systems (architectures, kinematics & compliance, component functionality such as bushings, dampers, anti-roll bars)

strong expertise in multibody modeling (e.g., suspension systems, steering systems, full vehicle dynamics) through CAE tools (e.g., MSC Adams or equivalent)

good experience in vehicle integration and cross-functional development environments (CAE, CAD tools e.g. CATIA, testing)

understanding of CAD and packaging constraints related to chassis/suspension systems

Education: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or equivalent
Language skills: Fluent knowledge of written and spoken Italian and English are required. Knowledge of German would be appreciated
Workplace: Moncalieri (TO) and availability to travel
Compensation package
Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL)
Italian National Metalworkers’ Collective Labour Agreement.
Base Salary (RAL)
The gross annual base salary offered for this position will be no less than € 36.000
Final Compensation
The final compensation package will be determined based on the candidate’s professional experience, competencies and qualifications, and on the applicable role level, in line with the company’s internal compensation framework. The final salary may therefore be higher than the minimum amount stated above.
Variable Compensation
Eligible employees will participate in the company’s variable compensation programmes, subject to role eligibility and the applicable company policies in force at the time of employment. Details will be discussed during the recruitment process.
