WHAT YOU WILL DO
As A French International Host/Hostess, you will be the main point of reference for French guests, helping them feel welcomed, understood and fully supported onboard.
By removing language barriers and building trusted relationships, you will respond to guest needs and enhance their cruise experience. As a Costa Values Ambassador, you will contribute to guest satisfaction, NPS and OBR while inspiring connection across cultures.
Translation & Announcements
Taking care of the daily cruise program to ensure the correct translation of written material in the relevant language such as: menus, flyers, and organizes informative speeches (i.e., embarkation travel talks, end of cruise
Act as point of reference for French speaking guests doing public relations (i.e., public events, parties, embarkation, disembarkation), daily hospitality desks and escorting them whenever possible on tours to remove language barriers, getting constant feedback on guest satisfaction and needs.
Make major voice announcements for Guests, including safety announcements during drills or real situations (live or pre-recorded format).
Management of complaints and problem solving
Provide translation services for medical emergencies, illnesses, or medical disembarkation of the Guest,
Report or taking care of Guest complaints (use of SA&PI system is required) informing the relevant heads of department and supervisors in charge with the aim to offer a prompt solution.
Support to revenue management services
Support the various revenue services through constant communication and promotion to maximize revenue and Guest satisfaction.
Safety Culture & Awareness
Contribute to organizing onboard activities and promoting high health standards, supporting the ship’s commitment to a safe and well‑managed environment.
WHO YOU ARE
Required:
Secondary school in Tourism or Humanities
At least 6 months experience in tourism (i.e., reception, accompanying Guests
English & French knowledge at least at C1 level
Being at ease with public speaking
Being enthusiastic and problem-solving oriented
Sales skills are a plus
Customer-focused and relationship-driven, with a natural ability to build trust and create memorable experiences
Results-oriented and resilient, motivated to achieve ambitious goals
Authentic communicator and storyteller, able to inspire and engage with energy and empathy
Curious, positive and collaborative, comfortable working across departments with a proactive attitude
Nice to have:
Previous experience on board or in international, multicultural environments
