Based in Brindisi (mainly on-site, flexible when needed)
Occasional travel (partners, meetings, events)
Start date: 2026, September 1
Full-time contract
Who we are
We’re Green Independence, an Italian cleantech startup working on a big challenge: making clean energy and water accessible and affordable, everywhere.
Our core product, the New Artificial Leaf (NAL), integrates solar energy, water purification, and green hydrogen production into a single system.
We’re growing fast and moving from prototyping to industrialization, partnerships, and early commercial activities.
This means increasing complexity — operational, legal, and organizational.
We are a small team. No silos. No perfect processes. Just things to figure out and make work.
The role
We’re looking for someone to work side-by-side with the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) across key operational, legal, and organizational activities.
You will handle contracts, documents, and compliance —but also coordinate activities, solve problems, and keep things moving.
You will be exposed to everything that makes a startup run and work closely with both founders, gaining direct exposure to strategic decisions, partnerships, and company-building activities.
What you’ll actually do
- Support drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts (suppliers, partners, clients)
- Assist in corporate and administrative activities (documentation, filings, compliance)
- Help manage relationships with external advisors (legal, accounting, consultants)
- Support the COO in coordinating day-to-day operations and tracking key activities
- Support the CEO in strategic and operational tasks, including partnerships, communications, and special projects
- Assist in preparing grants, tenders, and public funding applications
- Organize and track documents, deadlines, and priorities across multiple workstreams
- Coordinate with internal team and external stakeholders
- Identify issues early and help solve them pragmatically
- Support cross-functional activities wherever needed to keep things moving
Who we’re looking for
Someone structured but flexible. Precise but pragmatic.
You can handle legal topics — but you’re not stuck in a “legal mindset”.
Must-haves
- Degree in Law, Legal Studies, Administrative Sciences or similar
- Basic experience (internship or work) in:
- corporate law
- contract management
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Fluent in Italian and good English
- Proactive, hands-on attitude
Experience level
- Junior (0–2 years) → strong academic + internship experience
- Mid (2–4 years) → some autonomy in handling legal/admin tasks
We care a lot about mindset and execution.
Nice to have
- Experience in startups or dynamic environments
- Exposure to public funding / grants
- Familiarity with productivity and organization tools (e.g. Google Workspace, ClickUp)
- Comfort using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Perplexity) to research, draft, and solve problems faster
- Basic understanding of business / operations
What we offer
- €20,000 – €30,000 total compensation package, depending on experience
- Stock option plan based on retention and performance
- Ticket Restaurants
- Fringe benefits based on performance
And more importantly:
- You’ll see how a company is really built — not from slides, but from execution
- You’ll work directly with the founders on decisions that actually matter
- You’ll take ownership early and grow faster than in traditional roles
- You’ll operate across functions, not within silos
- You’ll become a key enabler of how things get done
- You’ll develop a mindset focused on solving problems, not just managing tasks
Final note
We value diversity and inclusion. We evaluate candidates based on skills, potential, and mindset — regardless of age, gender, background, or nationality.
