A Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages while delivering excellent customer service in a café, coffee shop, hotel, or restaurant. The role includes taking customer orders, operating coffee equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages according to company recipes and quality standards.
- Greet customers, take orders accurately, and process cash and card payments.
- Recommend menu items and promote seasonal beverages and food offerings.
- Maintain cleanliness of the coffee bar, dining area, and equipment.
- Restock ingredients, cups, pastries, and other supplies as needed.
- Operate and clean espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other café equipment.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cash handling and inventory checks.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and ensure a positive guest experience.
- Work collaboratively with team members to provide efficient service during busy periods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a barista, café attendant, or in customer service is an advantage but not always required.
- Basic knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and beverage recipes is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and shifts.
