The AI Robotics and Computer Vision Specialist role involves contributing to developments on perception for robotics, computer vision and physical AI within the AI Robotics team. The specialist will design, implement, and optimize AI and machine learning algorithms, develop and deploy advanced computer vision systems for smart inspection and maintenance, and integrate them into robotics solutions for energy systems. The role involves also creating and implementing advanced sensors, developing software components, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deploy AI and robotics solutions at customer sites, which may involve international travel.
In this role, you will be responsible for:

Contributing to the Computer Vision and physical AI developments of the AI Robotics Team
-
Designing, implementing, and optimizing AI and machine learning algorithms
-
Developing and deploying computer vision systems for robotic inspection and maintenance, defect detection, remote sensing, quality control, and other critical applications.

Integrating physical AI and smart robotics solutions into existing and new energy systems to enhance efficiency and safety.
-
Creating and implementing advanced sensors to gather data for AI and robotics applications.

Developing and testing software components according to customer and technical requirements.

Collaborating to deploy AI and robotics solutions at customer sites.

Exploring and developing new technologies and methodologies to stay ahead in the energy transformation industry.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, including AI and Robotics scientists, engineers, and domain experts, to solve complex problems.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
-
Have a M.Sc. degree in computer science or related fields with AI focus.
-
Have work experience in AI, computer vision, generative models, perception, and their application into robotics, preferably +1 year.
-
Have experience in collaborating with academia and SME.
-
Have technical knowledge across a range of topics including computer vision, machine learning, and robotics.
-
Have experience in working with state-of-the-art deep learning models and pipelines.
-
Have experience in handling data from different types of sensors.
-
Have experience with integrating sensors on robotic platforms, including quadruped robots.
-
Have willingness to travel to deploy and test robotics and AI solutions, and to present development results at international scientific conferences and industrial events.

Have experience in software programming languages including Python and/or C++, and familiarity with roboting software development using ROS.

Have knowledge of software development and DevOps Process such as MLOps, CI/CD, GitHub and experience in containerisation.

Be willing to travel to deploy and test robotics and AI solutions at customer sites and to present results at international scientific conferences or industrial events.

The initial pay range for this position will be EUR 38,603.44 To 49,500.
The provisions of Contratto Collettivo Industria Metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti will be applied to this position. Section VI – Titolo IV of that collective bargaining agreement relates to pay
