OT Systems Engineer
Role Summary
The OT Systems Engineer supports the design, implementation, and operation of secure, resilient systems infrastructure for hyperscale data centre OT environments in Siziano, Milan. The role focuses on Operational Technology systems including Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and other critical site infrastructure.
Working closely with internal technology, engineering, operations, and vendor teams, you will help maintain system performance, reliability, and security while supporting troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement in a high-availability environment. This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring regular presence across local data centre sites in the Siziano/Milan area.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, maintain, and optimise OT systems infrastructure across critical data centre environments.
- Support Windows, Linux, VMware, and virtualised platforms to maintain performance, resilience, security, and service continuity.
- Monitor system performance, identify issues or bottlenecks, and implement improvements to support high availability.
- Troubleshoot complex incidents, work with internal teams and vendors, and help drive root cause resolution and preventive actions.
- Support monitoring, patching, backup, maintenance, and documentation activities across OT systems.
- Apply security, operational, and regulatory best practices in a high-availability environments.
- Participate in out-of-hours or emergency support when required to maintain service continuity.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience as a Systems Engineer in an enterprise, critical infrastructure, or data centre environment.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows and Linux systems, VMware-based virtualisation, and secure, high-availability infrastructure.
- Experience with troubleshooting, systems administration, and operational support in complex technical environments.
- Understanding of security best practices, patching, backup, and system resilience.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell or Ansible is beneficial.
- Familiarity with OT systems such as BMS, EPMS, SCADA, PLCs, or HMIs would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of SAN technologies, backup solutions, infrastructure cabling, Azure/cloud infrastructure, or relevant Microsoft/VMware certifications would be beneficial.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with Italian and English language ability at B2/C1 level.

La fascia retributiva indicata rappresenta il range previsto per il ruolo. La retribuzione sarà determinata in modo equo e trasparente all'interno di tale fascia, sulla base dell'esperienza professionale, delle competenze e delle qualifiche del candidato.
Location requirement:
Due to the hybrid nature of this role, candidates should be based close to Milan or have confirmed plans to relocate to the area. Please note that we cannot consider applicants based outside Italy for this opportunity.
