As a Network Administrator, you'll be responsible for maintaining and administering computer networks and related environments, as well as supporting enterprise CCTV and Access Control systems. You'll provide hands-on and remote help-desk support, troubleshoot network, CCTV, and access control issues, and perform upgrades, installations, and system configurations as needed. Collaboration with IT, Facilities, and Security teams ensures the reliable operation of network infrastructure and physical security systems, aligning with business objectives. Your technical expertise will be key in documenting network and security infrastructure, ensuring compliance with corporate security standards, and managing vendor relationships. This role involves travel to remote sites to support network, CCTV, and Access Control,
installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
As this role is assigned to a customer-controlled, security-sensitive environment, the position requires compliance with applicable customer security, confidentiality, site-access and information-security requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
- Perform hands-on and remote help-desk duties for clients such as troubleshooting desktops, printers, cables, cameras, access control devices, and any other tasks assigned.
- Perform network infrastructure upgrades, installations, and configurations as needed.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IP-based CCTV and Access Control systems, including cameras, NVRs/VMS platforms, door controllers, card readers, and associated network infrastructure.
- Support the deployment of CCTV and Access Control solutions for new office and warehouse projects, ensuring compliance with corporate security standards.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network problems.
- Collaborate with IT, Facilities, and Security teams to ensure the reliable operation of network infrastructure, CCTV, and Access Control systems.
- Provide technical support to end-users and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Document network infrastructure, CCTV, and Access Control systems, and keep network diagrams and security system documentation up to date.
- Ensure network security and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors and external service providers for the installation, maintenance, and support of networking, CCTV, and Access Control systems.
• Travel to remote sites for network, CCTV, and Access Control installations, maintenance, or troubleshooting purposes.• Comply with applicable Crane and customer information-security, physical-security, confidentiality and site-access policies and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality and security in relation to information, systems, CCTV, access-control infrastructure and credentials accessed in the course of the role.
- Promptly report suspected information-security, physical-security or access-control incidents in accordance with applicable incident-reporting procedures.
SITE ACCESS AND BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENTS
This position is based at an Amazon-controlled facility in Milan and is subject to the security and site-access requirements applicable to personnel assigned to that facility.
As part of the site-access process, the successful candidate will be required to participate in background screening initiated by Amazon through its designated background screening provider. Completion of the applicable screening and satisfaction of Amazon's site-access requirements are conditions of assignment to the Amazon facility.
Any background screening and associated processing of personal data will be carried out in accordance with applicable Italian law and data protection requirements, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Italian Data Protection Code. Candidates will be provided with the relevant privacy information regarding the screening process and the processing of their personal data
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Understanding of all aspects of the design and implementation of corporate networking and systems infrastructure, including VPN, SD-WAN, network connectivity, Internet access, email, servers, and related technologies.
- Demonstrated proficiency with LAN switches, including VLANs, segmentation, and Power over Ethernet (PoE).
- Experience with Wireless Access Points and wireless security protocols such as EAP with RADIUS.
- Able to troubleshoot network issues, including connectivity, routing, firewall, DNS, and higher-level protocols.
- Experience with the design, installation, configuration, and support of enterprise IP-based CCTV and Access Control systems.
- Knowledge of CCTV technologies, including IP cameras, NVRs, Video Management Systems (VMS), video storage, and retention best practices.
- Knowledge of Access Control technologies, including door controllers, card readers, credentials, door hardware, and system administration.
- Understanding of structured cabling, fibre optics, PoE, UPS systems, and their integration with physical security solutions.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with infrastructure components such as servers, storage systems, and virtualization technologies is preferred.
- Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Proficient with backup and restore technologies and best practices.
- Experience managing third-party vendors and contractors delivering network and physical security projects.
- Job may require extended sitting or standing and use of standard office equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Network Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience working as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.
- Proven experience deploying, configuring, and supporting enterprise IP-based CCTV and Access Control systems, including IP cameras, Video Management Systems (VMS), Network Video Recorders (NVRs), door controllers, and card access systems.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewalls.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with infrastructure components such as servers, storage systems, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience integrating CCTV and Access Control systems with enterprise network infrastructure, including PoE switching, structured cabling, fibre connectivity, and UPS systems.
- Fortinet experience a plus.
- Experience configuring Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking with 802.1Q (VLANs), 802.3af/at (PoE), 802.1D (STP), BGP, OSPF, and LACP.
