Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, handling accounts payable/receivable, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring the accuracy of general ledger entries. This role requires a keen eye for numbers, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- General Ledger: Maintain and update the general ledger by processing journal entries for accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and miscellaneous adjustments.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders, obtain necessary approvals, and schedule timely payments. Manage the AP aging report.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate customer invoices, apply cash receipts, monitor outstanding balances, and perform collections follow-ups.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts and credit card statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Expense Reporting: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Compliance: Assist with external audits by preparing supporting documentation and schedules.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current accounting procedures and recommend improvements.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and experience with ERP software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics).
- Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Job Title: Senior Accounting Specialist
Position Summary
The Senior Accounting Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert for the company’s day-to-day accounting operations. This role goes beyond data entry; it requires analyzing financial data, preparing complex reconciliations, and ensuring GAAP compliance. The Senior Specialist will also act as a liaison between the accounting department and other business units.
Key Responsibilities (Add to the standard list above)
- Perform complex account reconciliations, including intercompany transactions and fixed asset schedules.
- Prepare and post month-end close entries, including deferred revenue, inventory costing, and lease accounting.
- Analyze budget variances and provide actionable insights to management.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff and interns.
- Assist in the implementation and testing of new accounting software or modules.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience.
- Certification: CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel modeling skills; experience with ERP system administration is a plus.
