Fleet Public Health Officer – Onboard Our Ships:
What makes you unique
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in public health
Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Biological Sciences, or a related field (relevant experience can substitute)
At least 2 years of shipboard experience or 3 years shoreside in public health programs
Strong knowledge of infection control practices and Vessel Sanitation Standards
Certifications such as CDC Vessel Sanitation Training, Infection Control, SHIPSAN are a plus
Good command of English (minimum B2)
Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office, reporting, data analysis)
Availability to work onboard on a fixed-term contract up to 6 months
Experience in the cruise industry is strongly preferred

You will act as Costa culture ambassador for public health, supporting and guiding onboard teams while ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance across the fleet.
Daily Fleet Public Health Operations
- Serve as the primary onboard authority for public health, ensuring full compliance with Company standards and international regulations across the fleet.
- Supervise and support Public Health Officers, respond to health emergencies (including outbreaks), and continuously monitor and improve public health practices.
- Lead training and development initiatives by delivering programs, identifying learning needs, mentoring junior staff, and fostering a strong health culture onboard.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and performance evaluations while collaborating with onboard and shoreside teams to resolve issues and enhance policies and procedures.
- Ensure consistent implementation of standards through training, feedback, and follow-up actions.
- Promote collaboration by working closely with leadership, fostering an inclusive and high-performing environment, and acting as a role model for Company values and teamwork
