Short description of the position:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join the ENTURE-CE project, an Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE initiative co-funded by the European Union.
ENTURE-CE (Enhancing Environmental Education and Sustainable Tourism for Natural Areas Resilience in Central Europe) brings together research institutions, protected area authorities and civil society organisations from Italy, Austria, Slovenia and Poland to improve the management of protected areas through environmental education, sustainable tourism and cross-border cooperation. The project aims to strengthen ecological resilience by developing innovative governance models, participatory approaches, visitor management strategies and educational initiatives for Transboundary Biosphere Reserves.
As an intern, you will support the implementation of project activities related to sustainable tourism, environmental education, stakeholder engagement and communication. Working closely with the project team, you will gain hands-on experience in an international research and cooperation project.
Tasks:
Support the organisation of workshops, stakeholder meetings and community engagement activities
Assist in the development of educational and communication materials
Conduct literature reviews and background research on:
sustainable tourism
protected area management
environmental education
citizen science
visitor management
Collect, organise and analyse qualitative and quantitative data
Support communication activities, including social media content
Assist in preparing reports, presentations and project deliverables
Contribute to transnational cooperation with project partners across Central Europe
Essential Requirements:
We are looking for recent graduates in one or more of the following fields: Environmental Sciences, Geography, Sustainable Tourism, Natural Resource Management, Ecology, Environmental Education, Social Sciences, Regional Development, European Studies, Communication or related disciplines
Strong interest in sustainability and environmental protection
Good research and analytical skills
Excellent written and spoken English. German language skills are an added value
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Good organisational and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Desirable Requirements:
Experience with data analysis or survey design
Knowledge of EU-funded projects (Interreg, Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, etc.)
Experience in stakeholder engagement or community participation
