Position Summary
We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive IT Specialist to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot our organization's technology infrastructure. You will be the go-to person for hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring that our employees have the technical tools they need to perform effectively. The ideal candidate has a strong customer-service mindset and a broad understanding of modern IT environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support:
- Serve as the first point of contact for end-users seeking technical assistance (in-person, via phone, or ticketing system).
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and enterprise applications.
- Infrastructure Management:
- Maintain and administer servers (Windows/Linux), workstations, and peripheral equipment (printers, scanners).
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability through proactive maintenance.
- Manage Active Directory (user accounts, permissions, and group policies).
- Network Administration:
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of LAN/WAN networks, firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
- Troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, and routing issues.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce IT security policies (password management, MFA, antivirus updates).
- Perform regular data backups and test disaster recovery protocols.
- Manage endpoint protection and patch management schedules.
- Asset Management:
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT hardware and software licenses.
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment procurement and warranty repairs.
- Documentation:
- Create and update technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in a similar IT support/administration role.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Windows 10/11 environments.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams) administration.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, Subnetting).
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- High level of professionalism and patience.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator.
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
- Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
