Ground Operations Engineer Ref.GOE_2026
In the frame of the IRIDE Mission, OHB-I operates its Eaglet-2 constellation (8+ satellites) throughout the whole operational life cycle.
We are seeking an experienced Ground Operations Engineer to support the operations preparation and execution.
Purpose: The GOE provides technical operations support for the ground segment, maintaining communication link integrity and resolving system-level issues in coordination with the GOM and SOEs.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor ground station telemetry reception and uplink performance in real time.
- Troubleshoot communication issues (RF link, data transfer, network latency).
- Manage system configuration, patching, and operational readiness of mission control infrastructure including MPS (mission Planning System) and FDS (Flight dyanamics system)
- Maintain ground segment logs and support anomaly investigations.
- Assist in the testing and validation of ground system updates.
- Support contingency operations and network recovery.
Availability Requirements:
- Rotational shift coverage aligned with mission pass schedule.
- On-call availability during all phases of the mission.
Other requirements:
- MSc in Aerospace or Space or Telecommunication Engineering or IT.
- Proven experience – at least 3 years – in ground operations, including direct involvement in LEOP activities.
- Network and system admin, knowledge on mission planning and flight dynamics systems.
- Knowledge of TT&C systems, ground networks, and mission control infrastructure.
- Familiarity with ground segment monitoring and telemetry handling.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in time-critical environments.
- Advanced level of English and excellent communication skills.
- Experience in LEO missions will be a plus.
Additional Assets
- Knowledge of CCSDS Packet Utilization Standard (PUS) rev. A and C.
- Knowledge of Procedure Language for Users in Test and Operations (PLUTO)
- Knowledge of SCOS2000 Database Import ICD.
- Knowledge of Space Link Extension (SLE) protocol.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing and Operations Information System (MOIS) tool suite (nice to have).
- Knowledge of ECSS-E-ST-70C (nice to have).
- Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills.
The gross annual remuneration package will be determined based on the degree of alignment between the candidate’s profile and the requirements of the role, as well as the level of professional experience acquired. The salary range is therefore as follows:
€30,000–€60,000
