Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Logistics Clerk to join our operations team. The primary responsibility is to facilitate the efficient movement of goods by coordinating shipments, tracking inventory, and maintaining accurate records. Key Responsibilities:
- Shipping & Receiving: Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments; verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing orders (quantity, quality, labeling).
- Documentation: Prepare, process, and file shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, customs forms, and invoices.
- Inventory Management: Track inventory levels using an ERP/WMS system; conduct regular physical cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers, freight forwarders, and warehouse staff to resolve delivery issues.
- Data Entry: Accurately input shipment data into the company database; generate reports on shipping costs, delivery times, and inventory status.
- Customer Service: Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding order status, delivery schedules, and shipment tracking.
- Compliance: Ensure all shipping activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook) and experience with WMS/ERP software.
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally and stand for extended periods.

Position Overview:
The Logistics Clerk is responsible for the tactical execution of daily logistics operations. This role ensures that all goods are received, stored, and shipped in a timely, cost-effective, and safe manner. Success in this role is measured by inventory accuracy, on-time delivery rates, and the reduction of shipping errors.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operational Coordination:
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with external carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL, Freight).
- Prepare shipping labels, packing lists, and export/import documentation.
- Unload incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders (POs).
- Inventory Control:
- Monitor stock levels and notify the procurement team of low inventory.
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances through root cause analysis.
- Maintain organized storage of warehouse supplies (packaging, labels, tape).
- Data & Reporting:
- Maintain digital and physical filing systems for all shipping records.
- Track freight costs and compare actual costs against budgets.
- Provide daily shipping logs and weekly inventory reports to management.
- Problem Solving:
- Handle shipping claims for lost or damaged goods.
- Expedite urgent orders and communicate delays to stakeholders immediately.
Requirements & Skills:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years working in a warehouse or logistics office.
- Tech Skills: Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables are a plus); experience with SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks is highly desirable.
- Soft Skills: Strong verbal communication, ability to multitask, and crisis-management skills.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
