We are currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineering Specialist to join our dynamic team in Castel Guelfo (BO), Italy!
We are seeking an Continuous Improvement Engineering Specialist to serve as the operational bridge between global design, manufacturing, and project management. You will drive process change initiatives, ensuring workflows from concept to end-of-life are efficient, consistent, and well-executed. Your focus is to optimize engineering productivity by supporting NPDI, VAVE, and Sustaining teams, ensuring they operate with high quality and "first-time-right" execution.
What kind of work will you be doing?
Process Execution & Support
- Act as owner of improvement process identification, execution and implementation, facilitating engineering teams during adoption
- Facilitate Lessons Learned, process root cause analysis and quality review meetings post-project completion, ensuring insights are documented and incorporated into future workflows.
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for the NPDI, VAVE, and Sustaining engineering teams to ensure project workflows are followed.
2. Global Liaison & Coordination
- Act as the operational liaison between global engineering R&Ds (e.g., Italy, India, China) to ensure consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical working methods.
- Collect and evaluate feedback from regional groups, coordinate with global teams to collect feedback on working methods and propose practical adjustments that improve efficiency and reduce regional variability.
3. Operational Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Generate weekly/monthly status reports and for leadership, focusing on engineering efficiency, and process adherence.
Assist PMOs in resource planning by tracking engineering capacity and identifying where team members are over/under-utilized across active projects.

What will make you successful?
- Solid understanding of the New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) process and its intersection with manufacturing during production life (VAVE/Sustaining)
- Strong in analysis and communication.
- Ability to manage complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders across the world
- Collaborative team player with solid problem-solving skills.
- Ability to enforce process adherence and challenge adoption of standard working methods without causing friction
- Highly motivated, self-starting individual.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft office products.
- Customer-oriented; open to travel.
- Good in written and spoken English.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required (Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
- Experience working in a global, cross-functional environment is required.
- Role equivalent work experience (2 to 5 years).
Engineering/Manufacturing work experience in the power business preferred.

The anticipated salary range for this role in Castel Guelfo (BO), Italy is between 38.000€ to 47.000€ gross per year (based on a full-time working week). Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation and benefits. Where applicable, a comprehensive overview of the full benefits package and any additional compensation will be provided during the recruitment process in accordance with local legal requirements. Compensation is determined based on objective, gender-neutral criteria, including skills, experience, and job responsibilities.
The applicable National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) for this role is Metalmeccanico Industria.
